Species you can find in Philly Zoo

My Kid enjoys spending a day there usually during Spring and Fall as weather is mild and could spot most animals being active. They have Lions, tigers, leopards, Gorillas, Monkeys, Rhino, Bear, Giraffe, Zebra, Hippos to name a few. They don’t have Elephants and I didn’t find Crocodiles or Alligators either. Most of the Animals were active except the Lions and Tigers. In most of the zoos, lions and tigers are always sleeping.

In the reptile house , there are a lot of snakes including king cobras and rattle snakes. There are many varieties of non poisonous snakes and rare frogs. They have penguins which is great to watch, lot of birds including flamingos, parrots, bald eagles to name a few.

How much does Philly Zoo Tickets Cost?

Admission is $24 for adults, $17 for children ages 2-11, and free for children under 2.. Vehicle Parking Cost is $17. They also offer membership plans which is beneficial if you are living close by and plan to visit often. In my case it was beneficial as I live close by and sometimes the parking comes handy when I visit Philly downtown.

How long it takes to visit Philly Zoo?

For us, it usually takes 4-5 hours to visit the zoo with a toddler. We will take a couple breaks and easily cover all exhibits in 5 hours approximately. It’s a lot of walking so be prepared for it. If you are planning to visit on a warmer day, better be equipped to beat the heat as there is no much shades. We also didn’t find enough food options here so if don’t expect for some great food options and their ice cream machine is down most of the days (as most other places lol).
